about my town

Town Sakharwadi has Governing System as Gram Panchayat which was established in 27 Jan. 1956. Town has population around 20,000 and more. The River Nira flows around Sakharwadi area as it is 4 km from Major Town at Murum and 5 km from Hol Village. Sakharwadis Hol Circle area slightly attached to Nira River at Asami farms of M S F C. Small scale Water Resources like Odha, Nala, Wheels, Phata etc. and Nira Right Canal Water Project Made Sakharwadi as Green Town. Town has Bigger Market Place after Phaltan. [clarification needed] It is the Seat of Hol Mandal (Administrative Village Head Quarter ). The Primary Health Centre,Sakharwadi( Pimpalwadi Area ) has its presence Near Sugar Factory. Sakharwadis well Populated Sub Areas are 1) Sakharwadi nagar consisting Ganeshnagar, Vidyanagar, Dr.Ambedkarnagar, Mahatma Phulenagar, Shantinagar, Sakhaligate (Some part of 5 circle Division ), Market Place; 2) Hol Circle (7 Circle) Consisting Four M.S.F.C.; Sakharwadis divisions and 3) Pimpalwadi Gram consisting Ahilya nagar and various Populated Areas along with some parts of 9 circle area.

History

Sakharwadi place Supported Krantisinha Nana Patil( Leader of Parallel Government against British Govt. in Satara and People called him as Krantisinha i.e. Lion of Freedom fighting ) for Pratisarkar ( Parallel Government )against British Government and Underground Freedom Fighters ( Patriotic indians who escaped from British ).Gadge Baba's ( A Marathi saint who taught importance of cleanliness to the people of Maharashtra by his deeds. ) relative is still here and Gadge Baba once visited this town. Historic Village of Hol, which was village of Maharaja of Indore i.e. Holkars and mainly the village of Sardar Malharrao Holkar is boarders Town. Bhosale and other Maratha clan as well as peoples from variety of castes under Hindu Religion are here. Also Navabauddha, Christians, Jains, Sikhs have minor residence.
